Jasmine enjoys to read but finds herself in a busy lifestyle that takes up most of her free time, limiting
her options to read. She doesn't typically choose difficult reads for herself, but leans more towards romances and thrillers. As of right now Jasmine is reading Communication in the Real World: An Introduction to Communication Studies, for her speech class at Mid Michigan Community College. The summer of sophomore year she was a complete bookworm, as she rode her bike to the library almost every weekend. She found peace in diving into the worlds that characters experienced throughout the book, loving every minute of a good book. Over that summer she read an estimate of six books, most by Mandy Hubbard. Her favorite read by Mandy was Ripple, it was such an interesting book that kept Jasmine engaged throughout the entire book. You Wish, and Dangerous Boy, were other books that Jasmine read over the span of summer. As well as Deep and Dark and Dangerous, by Mary Downing Hahn, which is one of her favorite books. As for the summer just passed, she sadly didn't read any books for her enjoyment. If the time would have been available, she would have loved to dive head first into a Nicholas Sparks book or another read of Mary Downing Hahn. The library within Jasmine's house is unfortunately not very impressive, for on a daily basis she is only surrounded by maybe five books. Unless she digs deep in the storage room, and comes across hidden dusty books by accident. She is a reader who can easily get lost in a good romance novel, but struggles when it comes to an SAT book. She can sometimes read paragraphs and not comprehend them, but on the bright side, re-reading things doesn't bother her. She looks at herself as a good reader, but with many gaps in between, those of which are worthy of improvement to get to the goal of being a great reader.
